The **Benchmade Weekender 317 Cool Gray G10** is a robust slipjoint pocket knife. Perfect for weekends away in nature. With two blades and a bottle opener, the Weekender has everything you need to carry out basic camping tasks. From wood carving and food prep to opening a cold drink by the fire.
The design was inspired by traditional pocket knives with two blades. This stems from the concept of traditionally using one blade for “dirty” cutting tasks, such as opening packages. You use the other blade for cutting tasks such as food prep that you need a clean blade for. Or, use the large blade for more demanding cutting tasks and keep the small one sharp for tasks that require greater precision.
Benchmade kept travel in mind when producing the Weekender. The knife has a slipjoint mechanism, which means that it doesn’t fully lock the blade like other locking mechanisms would. This is why a slipjoint pocket knife can be carried legally in many places in Europe. Very handy for a pocket knife that was made for weekends away. Both blades are made from CPM S30V steel. This is a robust powder steel that retains its sharpness well. You open the blades with two hands with the nail nick.
The handle is made from light grey G10. This is a stylish material that you see on many of the better Benchmade knives. Gold-coloured accents around the hinge screws provide a nice contrast. The bottle opener is in the back of the handle and can be easily opened with the cutout. A detent ball ensures that the bottle opener stays in place.
