The **Ontario OKC M9** is a cool bayonet, made by Ontario Knife Company in the United States. This is a real bayonet with all connections you need to attach it to an assault weapon. This is a knife that is made to be used. At the same time every knife enthusiast will be a little giddy about adding a real M9 to their collection.
The blade is made from modified 420 steel. Stainless and can handle its own. Exactly what you want when you use a knife like this in the field. The blade thickness of just under 6 mm is very impressive. In terms of grind you can see that Ontario chose a rock-solid tip. The spine is enhanced with a serrated edge.
The handle is made from FRN, a glass-reinforced nylon that is light-weight and rock-solid. Is this the most ergonomic handle we have ever seen? No. But that is simply the case with a M9 bayonet. The steel knife guard ensures that you don’t slip and end up on the edge.
The sheath confirms that we are dealing with a product that was specifically made for professionals. It is made from FRN, just like the handle. At the end you will find a special plate. It contains a screwdriver to make sure you can remove the handle to clean it properly. It also contains a protrusion. The hole in the blade falls around it. As such you can also use it as a type of *makeshift* wire cutter. Of course the sheath offers a lot of mounting options for various purposes. The one used most often will, without a doubt, be the steel Bianchi clip that enables you to hang it from your belt.
