The **Bark River Trakker Green Micarta** is a large outdoor knife, made according to the classic Tracker pattern. The unique tracker blade shape makes this Trakker incredibly versatile. Chopping and cutting: it excels at both. The possibilities in survival situations are countless. The large belly is great when cutting on a flat surface. A cutting board, for instance. The hooked part of the blade has a hollow, thin grind. With a convex edge. Ideal for pulling large curls of wood to make feathersticks.
The blade is made from A2 tool steel. This is a strong steel that would sooner bend rather than break. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: A2 is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean the knife after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep it in great shape. The edge has a convex grind that can be maintained by [stropping](/en/ct/stropping.htm) it.
The handle is made from canvas micarta. which is a strong, lightweight material made from linen and synthetic resin. It is comfortable to hold, even in wet or cold conditions.
The Bark River Trakker comes with a leather belt sheath. Stunning!
Bark River Knives makes all of its knives almost entirely by hand. This means that each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife may differ from the photos. The knife you receive may therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and the type of material, however, will always be the same.
