The **Extrema Ratio Sethlans** is an outdoor knife made for survival and bushcraft. It’s also great as a backup knife alongside a larger knife. The Sethlans was designed in cooperation with Master Advanced F.I.S.S. instructor Daniele Dal Canto (Italian Federation of Sports and Experimental Survival). The blade is 4 mm thick, high and has a full flat grind. This makes the knife better suited than most Extrema Ratio knives to food prep and other everyday cutting tasks.
This version of the Sethlans has a D2 steel blade. A version with Böhler N690 steel is also available. What’s special about the Sethlans is that you can remove the scales to make the knife slimmer or to add a paracord wrap.
You can carry this knife in a kydex sheath that attaches to a nylon MOLLE-compatible system. The sheath also comes with a mini MOLLE-compatible pouch with a double-sided sharpening stone and a firesteel.
## D2 steel blade
The blade is made from D2 steel. This is a tough tool steel that retains its sharpness well. It’s also easy to sharpen, which is handy if you use the knife often. Do, however, be careful with rust: D2 is not completely stainless. Extrema Ratio has addressed this by adding a coating to the blade.
## G10 handle
The handle is made from G10: fibreglass with an epoxy base. This is a high-quality, robust plastic.
