The Helle Mândra is a neck knife, designed in cooperation with Les Stroud. He is known from the television show Survivor Man. The prototype of the Mândra was tested by Les Stroud in Romania during a recording of his television show. On site the design was altered on the basis of his feedback. The name Mândra comes from a mountain peak in Romania where Les Stroud was found as the show was taped. Mândra means proud. A fitting name because Helle can be very proud of the results of this successful cooperation with Les Stroud.
The neck knife feels great in hand and is perfect for survival and bushcraft purposes. The handle is made from stunning birch wood. The handle was shaped, polished and oiled by hand to give it it’s unique character. The tang of the blade seamlessly merges with the handle. You can clearly tell when you look at the spine of the handle. The blade is made from a core of hard stainless steel, laminated in between two layers of 18/8 stainless steel. This core has a razor-sharp edge and is easy to sharpen.
The knife comes with a traditional Scandinavian leather sheath, a leather neck cord and a handkerchief with Helle print.
