The **Spyderco Stretch 2 XL** is a larger version of the well-known Stretch 2. The difference between these two knives is that they stretched the design of the Stretch slightly, **no pun intended! The blade is about 1 cm longer, and the knife is 2 cm longer in open position. This makes the Stretch 2 XL more suitable for people who prefer a larger knife.
It would also mean that the Stretch 2 XL is heavier than its predecessor. Right? Nothing could be further from the truth. The Stretch 2 XL doesn’t have steel liners like its predecessor, making the knife 30 grams lighter! The knife weighs only 75 grams. The handle is made from FRN. Like many other knives in the Lightweight series. FRN is a lightweight plastic reinforced with fibreglass.
The blade is made from Japanese VG10 steel. This is a reliable stainless steel. This version of the Stretch 2 XL has a serrated edge for cutting stiff materials. You can easily open the pocket knife one-handed with the thumb hole. When opened, the blade is locked by a solid back lock. The knife is equipped with a Boye dent to make sure you don’t unlock it accidentally. This Boye dent is a small cutout that prevents you from accidentally releasing the lock.
