## Laguiole en Aubrac Oyster blade
The blade is made from stainless 12c27 Sandvik steel. A type of steel with a relatively high carbon content making the knife hard, but also tough. Other than that the blade is relatively thick up to the pointed tip. As such you can easily open the oyster without having to be afraid the blade will break. The Sandvik steel is not prone to rust or end up with ugly spots. However, the salt water in oysters will affect any knife. That is why we always recommend cleaning and drying the knife after use.
## Laguiole en Aubrac Oyster handle
The handle is also made from stainless steel. The spine is enhanced with a minimalistic version of the characteristic Laguiole bee. The handle is broad in the front and thin in the back. This not only looks great, it also ensures that the weight of the handle is nicely located in the middle. As such the knife is perfectly balanced and feels great in hand. Because the knives are completely made from stainless steel they are dishwasher proof. We do not recommend it, however. In time the dishwasher will namely affect the appearance of the knives.
