The **WakaWaka light** is a rechargeable flashlight enhanced with a solar cell. This means that you charge the built-in Li-Po-battery with solar energy! Charge it during the day and enjoy up to 40 hours of light at night.
Because of its clever design and simple controls this WakaWaka light will come in handy wherever you are. Place it on the table to extend warm summer nights or hang it in your tent. Because of its flexible positioning you can hang it, place it on top of a bottle for beautifully diffused light or on top of a table.
With a 5.6 x 10 cm solar cell you can recharge the Li-Po-battery within 5 to 8 hours. Make sure you position your WakaWaka light directly in the sun. Preferably in direct sunlight because when you position it behind glass you take away a substantial amount of the strength of the light. This battery has a capacity of 500mAh and ensures that the two built-in LED lights will work for 10 hours on 25 lumens, and up to 40 hours on 5 lumens. 25 lumens might not seem like a lot, but when it is really dark out you won’t need as much light when you need to shed some light on something that is close by. In order to intensify the light this light would have to be enhanced with a larger battery which would take more time to recharge and be a lot heavier.
## WakaWaka: Share the Sun
WakaWaka is working on making the world a better place. By participating in different societal projects worldwide WakaWaka is doing everything it can to change lives. In various humanitarian crises WakaWaka helps out with power banks and solar powered lighting. However, WakaWaka also helps out schoolchildren in Afrika because they can do their homework at night. As such WakaWaka contributes to their education. In these types of situations WakaWaka always works with a participation model: quid pro quo. From keeping villages clean to a small financial contribution, equal to the costs of the polluting alternatives. Better for the people, better for the environment.
