The **Real Steel Bushcraft III Convex 3725C** is a robust bushcraft knife for a great price. Real Steel definitely kept the shapes nice and subtle. No unnecessary frills: a good and simple knife. The grind is, in that sense, a remarkable addition: you don’t often come across knives with a convex grind in this price range. It is namely very difficult and time-consuming to produce. At Real Steel they have proven they are really great at producing knives with a convex edge. The convex edge is amazing to use and rock-solid. An interesting choice, especially considering its price.
The blade is made from D2 steel. A tough and decent type of steel that retains its sharpness well, won’t break easily and is also easy to sharpen. You do need to be careful with acids, salt and moisture: D2 is not completely stainless. We, however feel that this hardly outweighs the advantages of this tough type of steel. The spine of the blade is relatively sharp at the edges. As such it is easy to scrape tinder or use a firesteel.
The handle is made from G10. The texture of the G10 gives you additional grip and the shape of the handle is designed as such that you can use it for a longer period of time. It is the result of the slightly square, but mostly round handle. As such you won’t be bothered by hot spots during long-term use. Real Steel added red liners in between the G10 handle and the tang of the blade which add a nice touch of colour.
With an outdoor knife such as this the way you carry it with you is just as important. For that reason Real Steel includes a sleek leather sheath.
