This **Eden vertical magnetic knife strip made from walnut wood** is an extra broad knife magnet. You attach it vertically to make sure you can store the knives horizontally. Instead of one magnetic strip this knife magnet is enhanced with two. As such the knives always stay in place. You can also attach the magnet horizontally. This strip doesn’t only look amazing, it is also safe for the blade of the knives you store on it. The blade only comes into contact with the wood. As such the blade remains sharp and the cutting edge won’t get damaged. This knife holder is strong enough to carry all types of knives.
## Type of wood
The magnetic knife strip is made from walnut wood. Walnut wood is dark brown with light streaks in its structure. Sometimes with a red glow. Various patterns in the structure might look like quilted, flaming and wavy patterns. Usually with straight grains, but sometimes also with an irregular structure. Walnut wood has a medium glow.
**Please note**: the knife magnet you receive can, because of natural variations, differ from the one you have seen on the product photographs. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
## Mounting the Eden knife magnet
The Eden magnetic knife strips can be mounted on your wall in two ways: with the included double-sided tape or with screws. The tape can handle up to 20 kg per 10 cm. Check out[how to mount a knife magnet here](/en/ct/how-to-mount-a-magnetic-knife-strip.htm). The mounting holes are located 37.5 cm apart. An easy way to mount the magnetic strips in a parallel and level way, is to use the included wooden template Place this template on the wall where you want to hang your knife magnet, and trace the inside of the cut-outs with a pencil. This is an easy way to find out where the drill holes should be.
**Please note:** the magnets are very strong. Make sure the iron strip stays away from the magnet. First attach the iron strip and then attach the knife magnet.
## Maintenance Eden knife magnets
All Eden knife magnets are enhanced with a coat of mineral oil. When the wood loses its beautiful colour all you have to do is apply a new coat of oil. Preferably paraffin oil such as the [Eden Essentials mineral oil for wooden cutting boards, 120 ml]. You can also easily clean the strip using a damp piece of cloth.
