The **KMFS Lapping Film LF1500 polishing tape** is two loose polishing tapes for polishing your knife. This 1500 grit polishing tape removes relatively deep scratches, but creates a dull finish. Prefer a finer polishing tape for a more shiny finish? Check out the [KMFS Lapping Film 2000 grit].
A lapping film, also known as polishing tape, is a strip of paper with a very fine diamond powder. In fact, it’s a kind of sandpaper, but much finer! You use a lapping film as the last step in the sharpening process. It removes small scratches and other imperfections from the edge of your knife. This polishing effect gives your knife a shiny and razor-sharp edge.
A lapping film is not suitable for sharpening a blunt knife! You still use a sharpening stone for that.
These are loose polishing tapes without a solid base. We recommend purchasing the [KMFS 8KIT Blank Stone Lapping Film Set].
