The **Böker Barlow Oak Tree 100503** is a classic gentleman’s knife. Its design looks friendly and traditional. The Barlow pattern has been produced for many years by many brands. Few, however, are able to create such a nice and subtle Barlow like Böker.
With this Barlow Böker took another step back in time. The blade is namely made from C75 carbon steel. Not stainless, but like how they used to make it. Even easier to sharpen razor-sharp, which is a great advantage. Carbon steel also forms a patina in time. It changes colour because of fruit acids and moisture. That is why a couple drops of oil once in a while will keep it in great shape.
## Handle made from bog oak
The remarkable thing about this knife is that the handle made from oak wood. And not any type of oak wood: bog oak. Oak wood that has been submerged in water for a long time or hidden underneath the ground, giving it a very dark, characteristic colour.
You open this knife with two hands and when opened the slipjoint makes sure the knife doesn’t close when you don’t want it to. Please note: it doesn’t completely lock the blade like a backlock!
