The **Condor Selknam Knife 3921-5.1HC** is an all-round, complete outdoor knife. Its obvious use is as a bushcraft knife, but you can also use it for survival or even for hunting. The blade’s convex grind is a nice feature. This means it has a strong edge, but is also able to slice really nicely. We recommend stropping the blade to maintain the edge.
The blade of the Condor Selknam Knife is made from 1075 carbon steel. This is a strong steel that is easy to sharpen, and can also take quite a beating. 1075, however, is not completely stainless, so you need to clean it regularly and add a drop of oil once in a while. The knife has a strong full-tang construction. This means that the thickness of the blade runs throughout the entire handle. There is a dimple on the side of the handle so that you can use it with a bow drill. On the spine there is also a sharp edge for scraping a firesteel, and the Condor Selknam knife even comes with a semicircular firesteel that you can use to tap a flint and create sparks. The sheath has a special holder for this, and a pouch for storing some tinder or a sharpening stone.
The handle is made from micarta. Part of the tang sticks out at the end of the handle, allowing you to use this part as a kind of improvised hammer. The Condor Selknam Knife comes in a sturdy leather sheath with a belt loop.
