This **Lodge Classic Cast Iron deep frying pan** has the classic look and feel of a cast iron frying pan, but is slightly deeper. Great when baking, frying, stewing or grilling. The cast-iron retains the heat well and perfectly distributes it. No strange spots in the pan where your food won’t heat up! And the frying pan can be used on all cooking hobs. Put it in the oven, or your stove, or hang it over an open flame. It even works on induction. This pan is enhanced with an, easy to hold, handle and a flat handle to make sure you can easily lift the pan. ## Maintaining your lodge pan
As the pan is produced it is treated with vegetable oil based on soya. As a result you end up with a natural non-stick coating. And each time you use a Lodge pan, this non-stick coating will only become better. Maintaining it, however, is very important. Clean the pan after use with water and a little bit of detergent. It is not dishwasher proof. If there is still some left-over food sticking to the pan, scrape it off with a [pan scraper.] Having trouble removing the left-over food? Simmer a little bit of water in the pan for 3-5 minutes. Afterwards you can easily scrape out any left-over residue. Properly dry the pan after cleaning it and add a small layer of [oil] to the pan. Always make sure you store the pan in a dry place. Otherwise it can start to rust!
