The **Kershaw Aftereffect 1180** is a very compact pocket knife, designed by Jens Ansø. The Aftereffect is so compact you hardly notice it in your pocket. But it also isn’t too large for your bunch of keys. However, with the 4.4 cm blade the Aftereffect is large enough to carry out different tasks. Think of opening letters and boxes. The extra-large lanyard eye at the end of the handle is designed as such to be able to easily carry it on your bunch of keys. Because of the size it can move alongside the keys without ever getting in the way.
You open the Kershaw Aftereffect with the double thumb stud. To make sure your fingers are safe the knife contains a solid liner lock. To not add any more weight than necessary Kershaw screwed a small liner lock into the frame to make sure a full steel liner was not necessary. The blade is made from simple 8Cr13CoMov steel. A stainless type of steel that is easy to sharpen.
Initially Kershaw introduced this knife as the ‘Kershaw Hub’, that name, however, was changed into Aftereffect.
